On September 28, 2019, the project progress seminar of “Climate and Water Resources in Great Rivers Region in Southeast and South Asia” was successfully held at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

More than 50 researchers attended the meeting attended the meeting, including academician Deliang Chen from the University of Gothenburg, Prof. Junguo Liu from the Southern University of Science and Technology, Prof. Qiuhong Tang from the Institute of Geography of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and some other professors. The meeting was presided over by Academician Deliang Chen and Prof. Junguo Liu.

The meeting was first delivered by Academician Deliang Chen and Prof. Junguo Liu, and gave a brief introduction to the project. Prof. Duan Qingyun, etc. made progress reports on the project. Associate Prof. Xiaomang Liu, etc. made oral reports on the progress of the project. After the project progress report was completed, the participating experts commented on the progress of each unit, sorted out the problems existing in the ongoing project, and discussed the next work of the project.

In the afternoon, the meeting was held in the form of group discussions. Academician Deliang Chen, Prof. Junguo Liu, Researcher Qiuhong Tang and Prof. Qingyun Duan respectively instructed the participants to conduct in-depth discussions on the project progress and hot issues in the report.

The conference systematically summarizes the progress of the project “Climate and Water Resources in Great Rivers Region in Southeast and South Asia” in the past year, sorts out the problems existing in the project and discusses them, and sorts out and forecasts the next work of the project. The seminar was of great significance to the smooth development of the project.
